About Us

In 1996, a man named John Wooden started a lawn business. Continually evolving his business model, he added retail offerings with outdoor power equipment and powersports vehicles. 

After many successful years in the retail business, John and his wife Carrie - as lovers of the boating lifestyle - decided to add the marine niche to their company. With Minnesota being the land of 10,000 lakes-it was a natural fit! 

The marine industry's top lines and brands were acquired, locations were added and the number of employees grew, until ultimately, the RVPS family of customers became what it is today! River Valley Power and Sport now operates 10 physical locations, 2 marinas and sells some of the marine and power sports industry’s leading brands.
